Does Fogging really work?
Updated: Jun 13, 2021
Disinfection by fogging has become popular again due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have so often seen governments throughout the world mass spraying streets, bus stands, schools to shopping malls. In some countries you have even seen pictures of people being sprayed or walking through a "disinfection" walk chamber.
Yes, fogging works but it only work if its done constantly. consistently, and with proper disinfectants. Fogging is like a great big "spring cleaning" that is completed on the same day. Its instant and quick but that is also the flaw of fogging. The room you have disinfected by fogging can also instantaneously be contaminated again if you don't maintain its cleanliness, and control who / what new exposures are brought into the room. A simple analogy is "your toilets stay spick & span clean as long as no one ever uses it".
Cleaning by fogging is the same. Do it regularly then you'll enjoy its benefits moreover a moneys worth. Fog and not following through with maintaining cleanliness is just a waste of time and money.
