POST CESAREAN GARMENTS
Support & Protection After a C-Section
A Caesarean section is abdominal surgery, and the period after delivery can be physically demanding. A well-designed post-cesarean garment can provide gentle, supportive compression around the abdomen, helping mothers feel more supported and comfortable as they recover.
At Alpha Health Malaysia, we have been supplying post-surgical garments in Malaysia for more than 17 years. Our experience with post-cesarean garments goes back to 2009, when we launched our first post-cesarean range.
Over the years, we have fitted and supplied garments for many women after Caesarean delivery. Our current MAAM Post-Cesarean and Post-Maternity Garments have also been developed with the benefit of that experience — including what we have learned by listening to mothers in Malaysia about what they actually want from a post-cesarean garment.

What Does a Post-Cesarean Garment Do?
A post-cesarean garment is designed to provide support and controlled compression around the abdominal area following a C-section.
Depending on the garment design, it can provide:
-
360-degree abdominal support around the midsection
-
Gentle compression and support around the abdomen
-
Support when moving, standing, walking or performing everyday activities
-
Coverage over the lower abdominal area
-
A supportive layer between clothing and the surgical area
-
A more secure and comfortable feeling during the recovery period
The aim is not simply to make the abdomen feel tight. A good medical compression garment should provide controlled, comfortable support without unnecessary pressure.
Keeping the Incision Area Flat, Dry & Protected
After a Caesarean section, the lower abdominal incision needs appropriate care and protection.
A suitable post-cesarean garment can provide a smooth, supportive layer over the abdominal area, helping to keep the area covered and protected from friction from clothing.
The garment can also help keep the area flat and secure, while its fabric and construction can help manage moisture around the covered area.
However, a garment should not be considered a substitute for proper wound care. The incision should always be kept according to your healthcare professional's instructions, and the wound should be allowed to heal properly.
If there are signs of infection, unusual discharge, increasing redness, swelling, significant pain or other concerns, seek medical advice.
360-Degree Support — Not Just Front Support
One of the important features of a properly designed post-cesarean garment is 360-degree support.
Rather than concentrating compression only over the front of the abdomen, a well-designed garment provides support around the entire abdominal area.
This can provide a more balanced feeling of support as you move throughout the day.
For mothers who have just undergone a C-section, this can be particularly useful when getting up, walking, sitting down or carrying out normal daily activities.

Targeted compression panels provide graduated, localized support to the abdominal region and the area surrounding the C-section incision, helping to provide controlled support during post-operative recovery.
Easy Sizing — You Can Size Yourself
Choosing the right size does not have to be complicated.
We have made sizing simple enough for you to measure yourself at home.
There is no need to guess your size based only on your usual clothing size. Medical compression garments are designed differently from ordinary fashion garments, so the correct measurements are more important than simply choosing S, M, L or XL based on what you normally wear.
Our sizing system allows you to take your own measurements and select the appropriate garment size.
Measure yourself. Choose your size. It's that easy.
If you are unsure between sizes or have specific post-operative requirements, our team can also help you understand the sizing.
Choosing the Right Post-Cesarean Garment
Not every abdominal garment is designed for use after a Caesarean section.
When choosing a post-cesarean garment, consider:
✔ The area of support
Does it provide support around the abdominal area rather than only at one point?
✔ The level of compression
Compression should be controlled and appropriate — tighter does not automatically mean better.
✔ Comfort
You may be wearing the garment for extended periods, so comfort matters.
✔ Coverage
Consider how the garment sits around the lower abdomen and incision area.
✔ Correct sizing
Use your actual measurements rather than relying solely on your usual clothing size.
✔ Medical-device status
Where appropriate, look for products that are properly registered and supplied through legitimate medical-device channels.
